Recap / Camp Camp S 4 E 5 The Quarter Moon Convergence

Go To

Quartermaster takes the campers out for Astronomy Camp, but clearly has ulterior plans for the night. Neil tries to take the lead and finds himself ill-equipped.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Quartermaster's collection of pickled snacks include deer lips, chicken eyes, and pomegranates.
  • Continuity Nod: Right before he fades away, the octopus creature tells Harrison that his brother says "Hi", referencing the reveal in "Parents' Day" that Harrison made him disappear.
  • Corner of Woe: Neil goes to sit in one when the other campers mock him for the meteorite they spent so long looking for crumbling to pieces under his touch.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Harrison and Quartermaster.
  • The Dog Bites Back: A downplayed example: At the end of the episode, Nikki, who mocked Harrison for his magic tricks with the other kids earlier, asks for a handkerchief she can use as a sling for her sprained arm. He lets her have one... but he also doesn't bother to help her pull the long string of them out of his hat, leaving her to do it herself with her injured arm.
  • Glowing Eyes: Harrison's eyes start glowing as he reads from Quartermaster's book.
  • Informed Flaw: Harrison claims that he is bullied more so than the other kids, no other episode supports this.
  • Psycho Electric Eel: Quartermaster catches one in the lake to use for the ritual to stop the apocalypse.
  • Touch Telepathy: The octopus creature does this read Harrison's soul for a reason why the Earth shouldn't be destroyed when the boy is too confused by the turn of events to answer coherently.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: The episode jumps back and forth between Quartermaster and Harrison moving to stop the Earth from being destroyed, and Neil trying and failing to lead the other campers in their search for the meteor he spots falling into the forest. When they finally find it, it falls to pieces as soon as Neil touches it due to Quartermaster and Harrison's ritual.
  • Wham Line: "Oh Harrison, your brother says hi."
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When Quartermaster asks Harrison to stop another apocalypse with him near the end of the episode, Harrison angrily refuses, pointing out that while the other kids were cruel and Quartermaster did stop an apocalypse, he also borderline kidnapped him and put him in danger.
  • When the Planets Align: The planets aligning threatens to destroy the Earth and Harrison and Quartermaster have to stop it.
  • When Trees Attack: The trees and flowers in the forest start attacking people as part of the planets aligning.
