Margot Wilson (ground), being taunted by Sqweegel

Directed by Jeffrey G Hunt

Written by Anthony E. Zuiker & Carol Mendelsohn

The CSI team hunt down a contortionist in a black latex suit that is killing people admired by the city, who turn out to have some very dark secrets of their own.

  • A Deadly Affair: One of Sqweegel's victims is a woman that is both the head of a committee that preaches good morals, and an adulterer. He even leaves a scarlet A on a DVD with video evidence.
  • Engineered Heroics: One of Sqweegel's victims is a man awarded the key to the city for fighting fires, which the victim had actually started himself.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: The CSI team refer to the killer as Sqweegel, because he killed one of his victims in a car wash, and the victim's young daughter couldn't get the sound of the car being cleaned out of her head.
  • Karmic Death: Sqweegel's motivation is dealing these out, giving his victims a chance to confess for a heinous crime they had committed before stalking and murdering them.
  • Karma Houdini: Sqweegel himself is never caught during the events of the episode, and never makes another appearance in the series.
  • Mercy Kill: Margot Wilson is one of Sqweegel's targets because, though she is a known activist for disabled children, she had secretly killed her own disabled son years earlier at his request to stop his pain.
  • Significant Anagram: Ian Moone, the name the killer used when ordering his suit, is an anagram of "I am no one."
  • Sympathetic Murderer: Margot. While Sqweegel doesn't harm her, she is still arrested when they find out her secret. One can only hope they went easy on her.
