Go To

Original airdate: 9/23/1996

For Mailbox's birthday, there is a special celebration, and we are invited to help out. They help decorate the cake for the party by observing patterns. They also skidoo along with Steve and Blue into the present store. There, they find the perfect present for Mailbox, a stamp book, and then help Blue and Steve find it when it gets lost among a bunch of other presents.

"Mailbox's Birthday" contains examples of:

  • Ascended Extra: Mailbox is now a fully-fledged character starting with this episode and is the first time he talks about the topic of the episode. In the first two episodes of the series ("Snack Time" and What Time Is It For Blue?"), the only thing he says to Steve is that the mail has been delivered and doesn't talk about the topic of the episode.
  • Amusing Injury: Downplayed, as it's not a serious injury. Steve dances to the music of the clue drawings, but falls backwards when Tickety Tock rings her bells to get Steve's attention.
  • Birthday Episode: This episode is centered around Mailbox's tenth birthday.
  • Forgetful Jones: Despite the theme of the episode, Steve suddenly forgets it's Mailbox's birthday.
Steve: Hey, I wish I knew someone who needed a present, you know someone who is having a birthday or something? 'Cause whew, I mean, look at all of these great presents.
    Viewers: Mailbox!
    Steve: What? Yeah right, Mailbox.
  • Suddenly Shouting:
    Viewers: A clue!
Steve: Oh, Blue? You see Blue? Oh, a clue, you see a clue, right. YOU SEE A CLUE?
