Go To

Original airdate: October 20, 2014
Subject: Force

When Starla the cowgirl truck loses one of her pistons in a swamp, Blaze and AJ have to find it and get it before Crusher gets his tires on it.

Tropes:

  • Early-Installment Weirdness: While this is the first episode to follow the regular formula and also the first to be the regular length of 22 minutes, this is the earliest Blaze has used his Blazing Speed before the adventure proper, happening within a sheer 3-4 minutes after it starts. His Transformation Sequence requires four parts instead of the usual three. Also, he doesn't spin when transforming.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: At Crusher's station at the Monster Dome, there are miniature versions of the Bigfoot Robot and the Giant Pineapple Blaster sitting on a shelf. These things would later become the cheats Crusher uses to slow Blaze down later in the episode.
  • Gasp!: The Monster Machines all do a collective shocked one when Gabby reveals Starla is missing a piston.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: Starla does it twice when she is missing her lost piston.
  • Melancholy Musical Number: Starla has a brief one to herself as AJ answers Gabby's call.
My engine is broken, I'm hurtin' so bad!
If I don't get that piston, I'm gonna be SAD!!
  • Near-Death Experience: The first episode to inexplicably show one of these, as told by the Bigfoot Robot chasing Blaze; not only does Crusher send it out to stop him, it also would've killed him if he didn't think fast.
  • Never Say "Die": The Bigfoot Robot that chases Blaze and AJ causes the former to utter the following line:
AJ: We need a solution to this problem, before he stomps on us!
  • Rule of Three: It took Blaze three tries to stop the Bigfoot Robot and also to successfully get the piston from Crusher.
  • Visual Pun: Crusher's Bigfoot Robot literally has big feet.
