Witnessing that Stacey and Junior are becoming more dysfunctional, Blark decides to do a "son swap" where Junior is Blark's son and Stacey's is Son in order to bring some levity into their lives.

- Downer Ending: Despite Blark's hopeful remarks that the Swanson family will recover, they are anything but recovering. As it begins to snow, Junior tries to vain to hug his dad for warmth — who is still passed out from drinking.
- My God, What Have I Done?: After learning about Junior's tortured past and bluntly stating to Junior that he can't adopt him which causes him to run away sobbing, a remorseful and guilty Blark flat-out states to Son that his "son-swap" plot was not a good idea.
- Papa Wolf: Blark gets furious when learns that Stacey almost let Son drink alcohol.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Downplayed. Stacey is shown in quite a negative light this episode, albeit with a few redeeming moments. He adopted Junior from the orphanage, thus saving him from his bullies, but struggles to properly care and understand him. He lets Son air out his grievances about Regina and they even bond a bit over their respective interests, however he screws up when he offers Son wine.
- Sequel Episode: This episode deals with the aftermath of "A Cult of Fire", mainly how the events of it is the catalyst for Stacey and Junior's dysfunction.
