The costs of chasing the Andromache continue to mount. Eleanor needs Silver's help. Billy wants Gates to confront Flint. Bonny takes a stand.

Having taken The Andromache, the crew focuses on drawing Bryson and the remaining crewmembers out of the lower decks. Silver convinces Eleanor to let him try a scheme that involves playing Hammond against Rackham and Bonny.

Tropes:

  • The Alliance: Eleanor successfully remakes the business her father is in the midst of abandoning by creating one.
  • Booby Trap: Bryson attempts to do this by wiring two flints to a stock of gunpowder.
  • Boom, Headshot!: Captain Bryson gets shot through the head by a rifle as the siege breaks.
  • Call-Back: The first pirate we saw with the dark skin and fake sharp teeth is once again the first one through the door when the pirates break a siege.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Billy Bones overboard, and Charles Vane coming ashore to somewhere unknown and finally confronting in person the bald, bearded man he's been hallucinating about.
  • Due to the Dead: Flint mentions that they've lost six men taking The Andromache. Near episode's end, the crew gather to hear each name read, and their weapons - in lieu of their bodies - are dropped off of the boat into the sea.
  • Fanservice: The local pastor comes to warn Ms. Barlow about the risks she's taking. She hears him out and admits he has points, but declares that he really came over (late at night instead of in the morning) because he's interested in her sexually. She seems to be right, and seduces him.
  • Gutted Like a Fish: How Hamund meets his end, courtesy of Anne.
  • Mook Horror Show: Bonny leads Hammond and his men to the spot where they've supposedly hidden the missing pearls and then ambushes and kills them all.
  • The Quisling: For a moment, it appears that Mr. Scott is going to rat out the slaves in the hold out. Fortunately, he does not.
  • The Siege: This episode has a strong element as they figure out how to wiggle through the lower decks' defenses.
  • Rasputinian Death: Bryson gets shot through the right side of his head with a decent looking rifle, but still crawls across the deck and almost reaches his goal before being stabbed in the back and dying for good.
  • Spanner in the Works: Bryson dies before his trap goes off, but when two pirates attempt to move the powderkegs later they set off it off. The resultant explosion is bright enough that the Scarborough will undoubtedly see it, so the crew has to leave immediately with the cannons they've managed so far.
  • Unspoken Plan Guarantee: Bonny's plan to kill Hammond and his men works perfectly, and is not revealed until after it succeeds.
