- Accidental Murder: Happens when Rion falls off of a balcony and breaks his neck after being shot with one of Khalil's (usually nonlethal) darts. Khalil is visibly disturbed by this, but nonetheless tries to keep up his tough guy act.
- Action Prologue: The episode opens with Black Lightning defusing a standoff between police and a confused Green Light baby.
- Boxed Crook: Agent Odell forces Lynn to work with a deranged but brilliant scientist to help the kids in the pods.
- Four Lines, All Waiting: This is the first episode in a while where every major character has some significant advancements going on with their storyline. It results in at least one case of something feeling left out: the episode is titled for a character who is introduced and then gone in under 5 minutes, not to be seen again.
- If I Wanted You Dead...: Downplayed example.Lynn: It's hard not to see this as you trying to sabotage my efforts.
Agent Odell: If I was trying to do that, you'd have failed by now. - Revealing Cover-Up: After Tobias killed Detective Summers he torched the car; this clues Henderson in that Summers was dirty and was in deep and whoever did it is a very professional and dangerous criminal.
- Tyrant Takes the Helm: Lowry is a grade-A Jerkass whose changes to the school undo all the good Jefferson did. Amongst other things adding the metal detectors Jefferson fought so hard against.
- Wham Shot: The episode ends with Gambi finding Kara Fowdy on her door.
