Hiro is asked by Professor Granville to convince young genius Rishi Patel to enroll in SFIT. Meanwhile, Noodle Burger Boy and his sisters decide to take over SFIT.

- Call-Back: Rishi geeks out over Baymax the same way Hiro did in the movie.
- Chekhov's Gun: Rishi hacks various items in the lab for fun. Later, he uses them against Noodle Burger Boy and his gang.
- Child Prodigy: Rishi is this, at 11 years old. Younger than Hiro was when he was accepted at SFIT, as Granville points out.
- I Hate Past Me: Rishi is very similar to a younger Hiro, which is why Hiro dislikes him.
- Playful Hacker: Rishi's interest is only piqued by the opportunity to hack and mess around with new electronics. He has no qualms hacking Granville's car and treating it like an RC car or messing around with Baymax's voice.
- Poke the Poodle: Noodle Burger Boy asks his sisters for an Evil Scheme. Hyper-Potamus suggests playing a loud noise on everyone's cell phones; Hangry Panda wants to leave people defenseless by eating all their shoes; and Crushroom thinks she can crush the sun — which at least shows some ambition, even if she has no means to do it.
- So Proud of You: While Granville doesn't use the exact words, it's clear she feels this way about Hiro by telling him he's achieved his potential and become an outstanding young man.
