Tropes:

  • The Bus Came Back: Ben's bullies from the pilot: J.T. and Cash get their second appearance.
  • Call-Back: This episode ends with XLR8 hanging J.T. and Cash by their undies once again.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: The Squires boast that the score in their last game was 28 to 3. Considering just how good they are (due to their robot bodies), the fact that the other team did score three points is pretty impressive.
  • Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment: Ben clearly relishes destroying the robot duplicates of his bullies Cash and J.T. since he smirks for a moment after destroying them, which J.T. notices.
J.T.: Is it just me, or was that thing smiling when it smashed our robots together?
  • Foreshadowing: With a name like the Squires, who else would be the masterminds behind the robot baseball players if not the Forever Knights?
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Cash boasts that he and J.T. made it onto the baseball team based on pure talent, before J.T. mentions that three other players above them on the roster got chicken pox.
  • The Man Behind the Man: The ending reveals that Enoch was the mastermind behind the Squire's plot to kidnap and replace the president with a robot. Enoch vows revenge on the Tennysons for interfering with his plans.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Despite the fact that Ben saved the president and destroyed the squires, Cash and J.T. get all of his credit and are praised as heroes by the president, while Ben gets his music pocket taken from him (and given to Gwen), and a lecture from Grandpa Max for using his Omnitrix to cheat at a contest to get it.
  • Not So Above It All: Gwen is the one to give the corny Bond One-Liner "You're OUT!" after the last robot is destroyed. This is even lampshaded by her immediately afterwards when she remarks even she couldn't resist.
  • Sore Loser: Lampshaded by Ben as XLR8, when he gets the last laugh on Cash and J.T. by hanging them from their undies again, since he didn't get any credit for saving the president.
  • Themed Aliases: The robot baseball players are all named after early American politicians.
  • Unexplained Recovery: The final scene reveals that the Forever Knights were behind the whole robot baseball players scheme, and that Enoch is still alive after last being seen in the collapsing temple from "Ultimate Weapon", with no explanation of how he survived this.
