The tenth episode of Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two and the 76th episode of the overall series. Nickel is eliminated, and the featured challenge is to save a team member from their nightmare and escape out their head.

"Oneirophobe's Nightmare" contains examples of:

  • Apocalypse How: Class X-4. Black Hole's nightmare involves him destroying everything in sight, leaving Fanny with him in a Blank White Void.
  • Big "NO!":
    • Marker's reaction in Black Hole's nightmare, just before Black Hole sucks him up.
    • Pen's reaction in his nightmare upon finding out that if he doesn't pay his debt, he'll be in jail for an extremely long period of time.
    • Golf Ball's reaction in her nightmare within Pen's nightmare just before she drowns.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: Black Hole and Fanny's conflict comes down to this. Black Hole is correct that he could literally kill everything around him which is why he is so adamant in preventing death, while Fanny is also correct in the fact that him wanting to prevent death led to Tree being immobile and her not having a mouth. Not to mention the whole zombie apocalypse that happened the previous episode. They come to terms with things and Fanny accepts the pact again.
  • Butt-Monkey: Snowball does not have a good time in this episode. To be more specific, he spends the entire episode as a small limbless mass of snow that keeps getting thrown everywhere.
  • Call-Back: The crate marked "Don't Purple Open Inside" (from "Let's Raid the Warehouse") makes a cameo in Black Hole's nightmare as Tree and Fanny try to outrun him.
  • The Cameo: One appears many times in the background throughout the episode, but doesn't interact with any of the characters.
  • Death Seeker: Snowball (see Butt-Monkey above) asks for someone to kill him already.
  • Dying to Wake Up: After Are You Okay fails to raise anywhere near enough money to pay for Pen's debt, Golf Ball realizes that every time she dies in a nightmare she wakes up, and so the new plan is to try to kill Pen so he will do the same. They fail at this but Pen winds up getting himself killed anyways and it works.
  • Irony: In Black Hole's nightmare, Marker dies right after Tree and Fanny recover him.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Fanny has no clue what "Don't Purple Open Inside" means, because by that time she had already switched to Two's show and missed the events of post-split BFB.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: Whilst it's not a trailer, The Stinger of TPOT 9 hinted that One would appear in this episode, but they don't appear at all aside from a few brief cameos.
  • Ocular Gushers: In his nightmare, Pen cries in this manner while freaking out about having to pay his debt.
  • Oh, Crap!: Needle has this reaction after pouring lava into Barf Bag turns her into a zombie again. Thankfully, Gaty then pours gasoline into her and this undoes the zombification before she causes any trouble.
  • Pun: During Cake at Stake, Two mentions that there is a giant hole in the moon, so they have a "hole" lot of moon shards to hand out.
  • Psychological Projection: This is the core of Clock's strange obsession with Winner, as being forgotten for several episodes in a row while dead actually did a number on him and made him want to avoid people being forgotten, so when he saw Winner had faded into obscurity, he felt like he had to boost them up when in reality they were just fine with that obscurity.
  • Retraux Flashback: Retraux Nightmare more like. The nightmare that Book has is styled off the old art style used for BFB with hand-drawn limbs and faces for most of the objects.
  • Rushmore Refacement: A version with four Losers is seen in Winner's nightmare. There is also a version of the sphinx that has Loser's face on it.
  • Shout-Out: When Nickel finds out he and Book are in the bottom two, he imitates the sound effect that plays when Pac-Man dies.
  • Snowball Fight: Upon seeing Two poking Robot Flower's lens, Grassy thinks they're trying to pick a fight, and throws bits of a half-melted Snowball at them.
  • Taken from a Dream: Yellow Face briefly considers trying to do this trope with a statue of Loser in Winner's nightmare.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Yes, Marker, approach the now Ax-Crazy Black Hole and tell him to stop without any sort of plan, that totally won't end badly.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Four and X start breaking windows and killing everyone after Clock leaves for good.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: A minor one at the beginning, but Tennis Ball calls out Black Hole for what happened with Barf Bag the previous episode.
  • What You Are in the Dark: With the exception of Robot Flower, all of the contestants who are put to sleep show their true colors via their nightmares.
    • Black Hole shows why he's obsessed with restraint, as if he's given no limitations, he could very well destroy the entire universe.
    • Book feels as though she's stuck in the same situation as Taco was when she antagonized her: friendless and with nobody being able to hear her cries for help.
    • Pen's afraid of having his mistakes catch up with him, namely his $200 vigintillion debt, and keeps running from his past as a result.
    • Barf Bag has the urge to be placed under others' control, as she doesn't want to be the cause of another epidemic like the zombie outbreak.
    • Winner feels continually attached to Loser's fame, not because they desire that fame, but because they feel like they're being put on the same pedestal as Loser when they want to live a normal life.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: Marker is recovered by the HPRC in Black Hole's nightmare, and then is instantly sucked up by him again. And even worse, the HPRC gets sucked up, making it incapable of recovering him again.
