  • Armor-Piercing Question: After being put through a lecture on the many dramatic ways the Bat-Family enters a room, Duke points out that the idea is to take the enemy by surprise. If crooks know that Bats always enter one of those ways, wouldn't entering through the door be more of a shock? The question shocks Jason and Cassandra speechless. When they recover, they both heartily agree with him.
  • Dynamic Entry: Cassandra and Jason are teaching Duke how to make his presence known with dramatic, fast, and damaging entrances via the skylight, window, wall, or floor.
  • Genre Savvy: Penguin has gotten so used to the Bats bursting through the windows/skylights/walls/floors that he (as Signal said) is completely caught off guard when they come in through the door. He even throws a temper tantrum over it when arrested.
  • Logical Latecomer: Duke, the new kid, is the only one who isn't caught up in the mystique and realizes that entering by the door could be as valid as any other way as long as it takes the enemy off guard.
  • Serious Business: Jason tells Duke that he's been breaking the Bat-Family's sacred rule by entering a room the way it's meant to be entered. He and Cassandra spend valuable time teaching him different methods.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Duke pointing out that bad guys are less likely to be prepared when they just use the door.
  • Stunned Silence: After Duke lays out the argument for using a door, Cassandra and Jason are silent for an entire panel as they process what he said. Then Jason calls Duke a genius.
  • There Was a Door: The entire episode is about how it's Bat family tradition to make an entrance that doesn't use a door, but Duke then points out that if it's already a known secret, then why not just use the door because it'd be something no one would suspect?
  • Title Drop: Cass summarizes the "sacred Bat covenant" Duke broke with "no doors allowed."
  • Visible Silence: After Duke makes his argument for using the door to surprise the enemy, a moment of ellipses and staring passes before Jason proclaims that it's a brilliant idea.
