Log Cabin Fever
A Mid-Autumn Night's Scream
The babies spend Halloween trick-or-treating, facing their fears, and competing in a costume contest. They’re even joined by some unexpected visitors.
Tropes:
- Bait-and-Switch: Mr. Mumbly is a grumpy-looking man that owns the creepy Hilltop Manor house. When Sylvester braves his scary yard and rings his doorbell to trick-or-treat, it looks like Mr. Mumbly is going to yell at him. However, he ends up being a kind old man that’s happy to have a trick-or-treater for once.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Floyd asks the audience twice who the three “kids” dressed as martians that keep following them around are.
- Cheap Costume: Since Floyd couldn’t find the Super Sunshine Girls costumes that Lola, Melissa, and Petunia wanted, Granny had to make them costumes from supplies around the house and they went as a tornado, a picnic, and a laundry basket respectively.
- Comically Small Bribe: Daffy asks Sylvester if he wants to trade all his Halloween candy for a bottle of hand cream he got while trick-or-treating.
- Company Cross References: Some of the Halloween costumes reference other Warner Brother characters:
- Bugs as Yosemite Sam
- Daffy as Duck Dodgers
- Granny as Witch Hazel
- Dramatic Thunder: Thunder crashes and lightning strikes when Daffy announces he’s going to trick-or-treat at Hilltop Manor.
- Expy: While only seen briefly, the Super Sunshine Girls appear to be very similar to The Powerpuff Girls, even down to their art style.
- Faint in Shock: Floyd swoons when he realizes the martians that went trick-or-treating with them were real.
- Halloween Episode: The babies spend Halloween trick-or-treating together.
- I Got a Rock: This keeps happening to Daffy due to his rudeness while trick-or-treating.Bugs: I got a candy bar!Tweety: I got a popcorn ball!Daffy: I got some...dental floss.
- Innocent Aliens: Three aliens land their flying saucer in the babies’ backyard, but they mean no harm. In fact, once they finish their trick-or-treating they head back home.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: A reference to Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
- Vampire Vords: Floyd, befitting his Dracula costume.
