Recap / Avengers Assemble S 3 E 24 Civil War Part 2 The Mighty Avengers

Go To

Thanks to Maximus, Attilan is destroyed and the royal family and other Inhumans decide they have no choice but to comply with Marsh's Inhuman Registration Act.

Not everyone is onboard with this plan however, and the Avengers soon leave in protest. This leaves Marsh to gather a new band of heroes for his agenda and form the "Mighty Avengers".

Tropes:

  • Answer Cut: When Steve asks if they can trust the World Security Council member who's just given them some details, the scene cuts to where he's supposedly broadcasting from... as he flickers and disappears, revealing he was a hologram.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Aero says she came to the US to try and get some freedom, only to find the Inhuman Registration Act waiting for her.
  • Jerkass: Good old Red Hulk, who figures since the Avengers have left Avengers Tower, it's now his to squat in, where Ant-Man and Ms. Marvel feel it'd be rude to stay. He also, not surprisingly, fires the first shot in the fight.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": Ms. Marvel, who actually does squee. Even when fighting the Avengers, she's still geeking out.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: The Avengers versus the Mighty Avengers. Mighty Avengers win by technicality.
  • Lured into a Trap: Steve and Tony are contacted by one of the World Security Council, who claims to be on their side and gives them a location of an Inhuman hideout. They go, and are attacked by the Nuhumans there, who are then confronted by the Mighty Avengers.
  • Mirrored Confrontation Shot: Old Avengers versus Mighty Avengers. Not everyone's happy about it.
Ms. Marvel: Why am I fighting the Hulk?
  • My God, What Have I Done?: The fight ends when Vision grabs Mjolnir and hits Cap with it, severely injuring him.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Baron Strucker gets an ass-whupping from all the Avengers present.
  • No-Sell: Kamala tries punching the Hulk. All she succeeds in doing is hurting herself.
    Kamala: Owwie!
  • Obstructive Bureaucrat: Steve and Tony try appealing to Marsh's bosses on the WSC. They just get a brush off about not being able to see "the bigger picture".
  • Resign in Protest: Fed up of Truman telling them what to do, the Avengers quit en masse.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: The Avengers's conflict. The regular team decides "good". The Mighty Avengers decide "lawful". Partway through the fight, Songbird decides she's on the side of "good" as well.
