"The Ghost Beaters are back!"

Ash: Okay, team, the evil is back, and it looks like Elk Grove is ground zero. Kelly, Pablo, other guy, you up for this?

Some time after finally ridding himself of the demon Baal and the Deadites, Ash Williams has settled down in Elk Grove, refitting his father's hardware store for himself and using his newfound fame to make it profitable. Pablo is running his own Honduran food stall, "Pablito's Fish 'n' Chips", while Kelly has taken over the local bar, seemingly content with their lives as well. Meanwhile, at an auction somewhere near Elk Grove, a woman tells to sell the recovered Necronomicon to the auction house. Kelly sees the book on TV and calls someone, informing them about it. The researches starts reading passage from the Necronomicon, and it brings the Kandarian demon to the shed, while Ash seems oblivious to the events on TV. Pablo feels pain from the presence and sees Sumerian script appear on his body once more. At the shed, blonde-haired Ruby from the past arrives to retrieve the book. She asks the researcher to hand it over and kills him once he refuses.

At Elk Grove High School, two girls named Brandy and Rachel are cleaning lockers from obscene writing and pictures, talking about their post-graduation plans. They share a joint and see their local mascot Coogie in the hallway as the demon closes in to the school. They tell him to get out, but Coogie doesn't leave, staring at them in silence. The lights turn off, and once they turn back on, he's standing in front of the girls, bleeding from his mask's eyes and mouth. Blood spreads all over the floor, and Brandy and Rachel try to run away from Coogie, but the school doors are locked.

At the store opening party, a mysterious man and another woman watch Ash, while suddenly Brandy calls the woman, who turns out to be her mother, and tells her about the attack. Pablo tries to tell Ash about the script on his body while the woman confronts him and reminds him she's his wife, Candace. She tells Ash he has a daughter and right now she's being attacked by Deadites. Ash refuses to acknowledge it, but Pablo shows him the bleeding script. They head to the school, while the mysterious man follows them on his bike. During the drive, Candy reminds Ash about their drunken wedding, and he finally remembers her.

At a motel, Ruby opens the passage in the Necronomicon that tells that Ash is the prophesized hero and stabs her hand over it, causing blood to pour on the picture. She licks the blood from it and falls on the floor, becoming pregnant. At the school, Ash reminisces about his school days and finds a joint under one of the awards, while Pablo tells Candace about their adventures. Brandy and Rachel hide in the music room, and Ash and Candace find them. Ash becomes convinced that Brandy is possessed, but it turns out to be Rachel who starts to recite the Ashy Slashy limerick and attacks them with musical instruments. She tosses a cymbal at Brandy, but Pablo tackles her out of the way, and it cuts off Candace's head instead. Ash uses a harp to cut Rachel's face into several pieces, killing her.

Brandy is devastated by the deaths, and Ash tries to comfort her, but Coogie attacks him and attempts to crush him with a bear hug. Pablo frees him with an axe, but it doesn't deter the mascot, until Kelly launches a grenade into its mouth. He and the mysterious man from before shoot the costume up and make its head explode. The man kneels before Ash, and Kelly introduces him as Dalton, one of the Knights of Sumeria, an ancient order tasked with protecting the prophesized hero. Ash announces that the Ghost Beaters are back and offers a joint to Brandy.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Marriage: Ash and Candace were married while completely drunk, but neither of them has divorced each other.
  • Accidental Misnaming: Ash accidentally calls him daughter "Sandy" and "Mandy" while introducing her to Kelly and Dalton.
    Brandy: Brandy! And fuck you!
  • Auto Erotica: According to Ash's memories, he and Candace have conceived Brandy at the backseat of the Delta.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Kelly comes to Ash's aid in style along with Dalton, launching a grenade into Coogie's mouth.
    Kelly: Hi-dee-fuckin'-ho, boys. Missed me?
  • Bond One-Liner: Ash belts one out after cutting through Rachel's face with harp strings:
    Ash: Suck on that, Harpo.
  • But We Used a Condom!: Ash remembers that he used a condom with Candace that went "50-0" before.
  • Eye Poke: Deadite Rachel telekinetically pokes Ash in the eyes with drumsticks.
  • I Have Many Names: Ruby introduced herself to the researcher with her Latin and Greek nicknames, both of which are foreboding: "Demon Woman of Fire" and "Fierce Mother from Hell".
  • Kitschy Local Commercial: "Ashy Slashy's Hardware Store Emporium" has one of these, featuring Ash slashing prices with his chainsaw, him and a young girl making sexual innuendos and puns and silly music. And it only took 22 takes to film.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Ash tells Brandy that he's her Papa, and she reacts to it with bewilderment.
  • Musical Assassin: Deadite Rachel attempts to kill Ash and others with a variety of musical instrument, such as a bass bow, a trumpet and a tuba.
  • Mystical Pregnancy: Ruby becomes pregnant after drinking her blood from Ash's image in the Necronomicon, and the fetus in her womb starts developing rapidly.
  • Off with His Head!: Candace gets her head cut off by a cymbal thrown by Deadite Rachel.
  • Pornstache: Ash had one when he married Candy.
  • Too Dumb to Live: The auction presenter just had to read the demon summoning passage outloud, dooming himself and others to die at the Deadites' hands.
  • Your Head Asplode: Ruby turns the professor's head into mush with a single punch.
