• Acquired Situational Narcissism: Dodie when she replaces Chett Zipper for school announcer and uses it for gossip, becoming somewhat popular in the process, but only because she dishes dirt on other people.
• Adults Are Useless: How else do you explain Dodie being allowed to use the school's morning announcements for gossip, which humiliates the students?
• Big Heroic Run: When Dodie begins to read a list of students who have lice over the school's PA system. Courtney, who is on the list, begs Ginger to stop her, so she makes a mad dash to the office and dives at the microphone cord, unplugging it right before Dodie reads Courtney's name.
• Continuity Nod: Courtney and Miranda had previously mixed Dodie and Macie's names up as 'Podie' and 'Stacy'. They call her Podie at first, before switching to Dodie and calling her that for the rest of the series.
• Drunk with Power: Dodie becomes this as the school intercom announcer.
• Easily Forgiven: Dodie gets forgiven by her friends and arguably the popular girls, despite going out of her way to humiliate them. Since she's not seen doing the announcements again (and the show is big on continuity), it can be assumed the faculty fired her as punishment.
• Embarrassment Plot: The second half of the episode focuses on Courtney Gripling having lice. Dodie wants to read out a list of students with lice and claims it's because "the students have a right to know", but Ginger disapproves because it's clear that Dodie just wants to use gossip to get attention.
• Expository Hairstyle Change: Dodie first wears her hair down and then up in a bun to look more professional.
• Irony: Courtney lampshades the irony that she went to such lengths to stay clean, and it left her more open to getting lice.
• Lice Episode: Especially for poor Courtney.
• Protagonist Journey to Villain: Dodie becomes the antagonist of this episode, humiliating people with gossip in the hopes of getting power and status.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Ginger gives one to Dodie.
  Dodie: You don't respect me at all, Ginger Foutley. I don't think we can ever be friends again.
  Ginger: We aren't friends now!
• The Tape Knew You Would Say That: In Dodie's first announcement, she mentions that the pudding on the ceiling almost hit Courtney. The girl adds "and my all cream ensemble", right before Dodie says the same thing.
• Worst Aid: Washing your hair multiple times a day is not only going to attract headlice; it would dry the hair out.
