Recap / Arrested Development S 4 Remix E 1 Re Capn Bluth

Go To

Lucille's escape from justice on the Queen Mary comes to an abrupt end when, provoked by Lucille Austero, she turns the ship around and causes it to capsize.

SEC's charges against Lucille are dropped, but she is now facing prison for pirating the Queen Mary. After offering his help with the upcoming trial, Michael grows tired of his family and walks out for good, selling his shares to Lucille Austero.

The Arrested Development episode "Re Cap'n Bluth" provides examples of:

  • The Bus Came Back: Barry Zuckerkorn is inexplicably back after having been fired in the third season premiere.
  • How We Got Here: The episode keeps the beginning of the original season 4 premiere, setting up the entire remixed season as an example of this.
  • Lampshade Hanging: The narrator refers to Michael Cera's visible aging between this episode and the previous one by saying that "[GOB]'s betrayal and time at sea had clearly aged the boy". Nothing is said of Michael's sudden change in haircut, which is just as obvious.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • The narrator ends his recap of the former Series Finale with "...which should have been the end of it."
    • When the Bluths reunite at the harbormaster's lodge, the narrator compares the reunion with "a fourth season that almost didn't come".

The previous episode is "Development Arrested".
