After spending almost an entire year in hyper sleep, the Plutonians discover that their species has been taken over by the Mooninites. To make matters worse, they send the duo on a deadly mission to a haunted man-eating spaceship.
- The Bus Came Back: After seven years since The Movie and ten years since we've had an actual episode focused on them, the Plutonians make their grand return.
- Cross-Referenced Titles: To "Spacecataz", the series of shorts/pilot about the adventures of the Plutonians and Mooninites.
- Downer Ending: The Plutonians are left trapped inside the ship. It's a Downplayed Trope, as the Mooninites were likely lying that they would be trapped in there forever (they lied about the ship being haunted as well) — but the Plutonians are dumb enough to believe in anything they say.
- Lower-Deck Episode: The Aqua Teens do not appear nor does Carl, the entire story takes place in space with the Plutonians and the Mooninites.
- Reimagining the Artifact: This whole episode is essentially a
Spiritual Successor to the "Spacecataz" Cold Openings seen throughout season 3, which itself was a scrapped pilot. - Whole-Plot Reference: Extremely downplayed, but the plot is essentialy an extremely bastardized take on Event Horizon. It's even lampshaded in the end when the Mooninites leave to watch the movie.
