Go To

Airdate: November 14, 1998

The Series Finale of Animaniacs, originally aired alongside the Series Finale of Pinky and the Brain.

Birds on a Wire: Similar to the opening of "Hooray for North Hollywood", the Goodfeathers observe a sunrise.

The Scoring Session: The entire cast of Animaniacs serves as the orchestra for the series, while maestro Neivel Nosenest has to put up with the antics of the Warners and the entire Animaniacs gang.

The Animaniacs Suite: A clip show that pays tribute to the characters of the show and the music of Richard Stone, as our journey with the "Animaniacs" come to an end. For now.

Birds on a Wire contains examples of:

  • Padding: This was an unused sequence from "Hooray for North Hollywood".

The Scoring Session contains examples of:

  • Bat Family Crossover: The orchestra that records all the Animaniacs episodes are depicted as the entire cast of the show, including:
    • The Hip Hippos and Runt - cellos
    • Ralph - timpani and bass drum
    • The Goodfeathers - tubular bells
    • Dr. Scratchasniff and Frau Hossenfeffer - trombones
    • Pinky and the Brain and Skippy - trumpets
    • The Mime - imaginary trumpet
    • Sid the Squid, Walter Wolf and Beanie the Bison - clarinets
    • Slappy and Vina Waleen - flutes
    • Chicken Boo, Rita, Katie Ka-Boom, Stinkbomb D. Bassett, Minerva, Mindy, Hello Nurse and Dot - violins
    • Yakko - piano
    • Wakko - drums and percussions
  • Creator Cameo: Composers Richard Stone, Steve and Julie Bernstein appear as musicians in the orchestra.
  • In-Joke: The conductor is named Nievel Nose-Nest because whenever Tom Ruegger's family watched An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, they called it "Nievel Nose-Nest".
  • Literal-Minded: Nose-Nest says he wants the score to be played "piano" (meaning "soft"), but Yakko thinks he means the instrument, so he plays some jazz on the keys.

The Animaniacs Suite contains examples of:

  • Clip Show: There is no new material in this segment, except for the music.
  • Grand Finale: Pays tribute to the series and its music. Aired along with the finale TV movie, "Hooray For North Hollywood".
  • Leitmotif: In order, the themes presented are the Theme Song, the Warners' theme, Pinky and the Brain's theme, Buttons and Mindy's theme, Rita and Runt's theme (also accompanied by shots of Hello Nurse and Minerva), the Goodfeathers' theme, and Slappy's theme (adaptation of "Humoresque" by Dvorak).
  • Public Domain Soundtrack: In addition to the characters' themes, some snippets of Beethoven's 5th, "Stars and Stripes Forever", "the Light Cavalry Overture", "Rule Britannia", "Battle Hymn of the Republic", and "Le Marseillaise" play throughout.
  • Recycled Animation: Some unused animation from the "Very Special Animaniacs" sequence of the "Animaniacs Stew" episode is dubbed over. The unused animation was of Wakko saying "It's especially stinky!" instead of "I'm not wearing pants!", but is dubbed over to say "It actually doesn't stink!"
  • Thanking the Viewer: Right after the short ends, a special message comes on before the credits: "A special THANK YOU to all those who have contributed to the success of Animaniacs." as gratitude to the fans, young and old, for watching. In fact, the fandom of the beloved series is still growing.
