Be Careful What You Eat contains examples of:

  • Artistic License – Chemistry: Quite a few of the chemicals the Warners name are completely fake. Rule of Funny applies here, of course.
  • Balloon Belly: The Warners at the end of the short.
"We like sweets a lot, so give us all you've got, and we'll stuff them in our bodies 'til they make our insides rot!"

Up the Crazy River contains examples of:

  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Buttons. He gets tangled up in Mindy's harness when he saves her from getting sucked in by the ferry's paddle wheel, gets attacked by piranhas and crocodiles, gets flattened by a fallen tree, and splashed by Angel Falls just trying to keep Mindy safe.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Buttons keeps Mindy safe and manages to save the Amazon rainforest when he destroys the lumber mill. Unfortunately, he gets splashed by Angel Falls, and when he shakes the water off, he splashes Mindy, getting himself punished by Mindy's Dad as a result. However, Mindy hugs Buttons and tells him she loves him.
  • The Cameo: Yakko, Wakko and Dot are seen fishing as Mindy floats down the river on a log.
  • Chasing a Butterfly: Mindy chasing a butterfly is what sets this episode's plot in motion.
  • Denied Food as Punishment: Mindy's Dad punishes Buttons for splashing Mindy with water by telling him he won't get a treat.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: This is the only short in which Buttons wears a collar. Although, some shots have him without the collar.
  • Green Aesop: Ee-yup, there's a moral in this cartoon about saving the rainforest.
  • Lumber Mill Mayhem: This episode features a scene where Buttons has to save Mindy when she wanders into a lumber mill responsible for the destruction of the Amazon rainforest. When Buttons' antics destroy the lumber mill, the animals are able to reclaim their homes.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: Buttons gets attacked by a family of crocodiles at one point.
  • Piranha Problem: Buttons gets attacked by piranhas at one point.
  • Shout-Out: The title is parodying the old jazz standard "Up the Lazy River".

Ta Da Dump, Ta Da Dump, Ta Da Dump Dump Dump contains examples of:

  • The Cameo: Of course, the Warner Siblings run by at one point.
  • Help, I'm Stuck!: Pesto gets stuck in some plastic rings, and Bobby and Squit eventually get stuck in them as well. They are eventually freed by a vendor when they pose as soda cans.
  • Seesaw Catapult: When the Goodfeathers arrive at the garbage barge, Bobby and Pesto stand on separate ends of a wooden plank being held up by an empty bottle. When the seagulls insult the Goodfeathers, Bobby jumps on his end, launching Pesto into the air and causing him to land in some plastic rings and get stuck in them.
  • Shout-Out: The title is a reference to the punchline of a classic joke: "Where does The Lone Ranger go to dispose of his garbage? Ta da dump, ta da dump, ta da dump dump dump..."

Yakko: "We're going to... [beat] sleep."
