Katie decides that Anna-Kat and Franklin are too sheltered and need to take more risks in life and live a little more dangerously, the way she used to when she was young. Oliver, unable to pay for a tutor or advanced SAT prep courses, decides to turn to stimulants supplied by Trevor to help him study, much to Cooper's dismay, but things take a turn when he hides them and Greg takes quadruple the recommended dose accidentally... right before he has to participate in a city council debate. Meanwhile, Taylor is discovering abstract art and finding that she likes that it is broadening her horizons, with her TA encouraging her to attend an exhibit where she can see more artwork. But she decides she needs to give Trip a chance to broaden his horizons too.
Tropes:
- Amusing Injuries: Katie manages to dislocate her shoulder... twice. On both occasions she attempts to pop it back in herself... and fails both times.
- Drugs Are Bad: Although downplayed, it's still clear that Boosterin isn't the kind of drug that should be taken without a prescription, given its comically small recommended dose (one quarter of one pill) and the unfortunate side effects.
- Fantastic Drug: Boosterin, which seems to function similarly to Adderall.
- Intoxication Ensues: Greg's quadruple dose of the Boosterin has several unpleasant side effects.
- Hidden Depths: Yep, Franklin again. This time he's a brilliant trampolinist.
- Side Effects Include...: Excessive blinking, dry mouth, dizziness, and hand tremors... along with (apparently) hallucination, if Greg thinking that he was being attacked by bees counts as a side effect.
