The time has finally come for the Ottos to take their vacation to Los Angeles that they won in "The Great Cookie Challenge", but before they leave Oliver and Cooper have a bit of a tiff, after Cooper continually demonstrates his lack of understanding that the Ottos simply can't afford to improve on the package they won by eliminating the layover or upgrading to first class. So when the Ottos arrive at their hotel in LA they're surprised to find Cooper there, having taken his private jet, determined to try to understand the Otto experience first-hand.
Katie, for her part, is determined to eat at PUMP restaurant, run by her favorite real housewife Lisa Vanderpump, hoping for a photo opportunity. Taylor is dragooned into repairing the frame on the family photo from "Girls Night Out" after it is damaged on the flight, taking Anna-Kat in tow because the life skills list requires her to look after her sister. This leaves Katie and Greg to make their own fun, but things go awry after they decide to go into the marijuana store to sample the product since they're in California where it's legal...

- Comically Missing the Point: As they're strolling through a shopping district in Beverly Hills, Oliver challenges Cooper to act as if he only has $20 and imagine not being able to afford any of the luxury items they see. As he says this, he is noticing a sweater in a boutique window, and when Cooper says he's interested in buying it Oliver points out he can't afford it - but it turns out Cooper was talking about a Porsche he had noticed on the curbside, and decides he wants to buy it anyway.
- History with Celebrity: Conveniently, Lisa Vanderpump is Cooper's godmother, so he is able to get in touch with her and have her do a meet-and-greet with the Ottos.
- Hustling the Mark: Taylor, never known for her intelligence, loses the money she was supposed to use to pay to get the frame fixed to the classic "shell game" con.
- Intoxication Ensues: Katie and Greg eat the marijuana gummies and promptly spend most of the rest of the episode stoned.
- Parental Neglect: Cooper points out that his parents probably don't even know he's flown to Los Angeles, when he tells Oliver how much he values the Ottos as surrogate parental figures.
- Special Guest: Lisa Vanderpump As Herself.
- Vacation Episode: Conveniently (and cheaply), it's in Los Angeles, where American Housewife is filmed. (Per Daniel DiMaggio, most of the LA exterior scenes were shot within 10 miles of the studio.)
