Stan fears that Steve is about to challenge him for dominance, and so begins to reassert himself. Meanwhile, Hayley and Jeff undergo marriage counseling through Principal Lewis.

- And I Must Scream: One of Roger's personas carries around pills that completely paralyzes a person for several hours but leaves them conscious. Principal Lewis ingests them twice.
- Call-Back: In "Star Trek," Francine emotionally manipulated Steve by saying his birth caused her to tear her "from her V to her A." She says this exact thing during the flashback.
- The Cobbler's Children Have No Shoes: Hayley is flabbergasted that Lewis is a marriage counsellor when he outright admits he raised his hand to his wife.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Stan says this line word for word when he realizes that trying to live like walruses has made Steve inept.
- Primal Scene: Invoked; Stan tricks Steve into walking in on him and Francine being intimate, since only the Alpha has the right to mate. After Not What It Looks Like, he tells Steve that the fact that he mates and Steve doesn't proves he's still top dog. Then he chases Steve out of the room while yelping like a Walrus.
- Too Dumb to Live: Lewis ingests pills without even stopping to consider the effects. Hayley outright calls him crazy for the act.
- Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: Following Steve's breakdown at the party, Roger congratulates Stan, telling him now his son will never challenge him again, and Steve's son will never challenge him since he will never have kids thanks to the way Stan raised him. Stan, realizing he's made Steve inept, feels horrible.
