When photographs of Roger begin appearing in newspapers, Stan is tasked with finding the missing alien.

Tropes:

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite how much Roger put Stan through the episode, Stan still saves him when he is about to be vivisected by altering the anesthesia intended to be used on Roger to knock out everyone else in the room so Roger can escape.
  • Bookends: The episode both begins and ends with a naked picture of Roger.
  • Censor Box: Roger's prosthetic is concealed with this.
  • Exact Words: Roger says that there won't be any more candid pics of him. He's then shown doing a photoshoot.
  • Full-Name Ultimatum: Pretending not to know Stan, Roger decides to call him "Mortimer" and addresses him as "Mortimer James" when asking for a coffee.
Roger: (to Bullock) I add the middle name when I'm disappointed in him.
  • Gilligan Cut:
    • Roger reassures Stan that some shutterbug got lucky in snapping a picture of him. The scene then cuts to Roger selling more pictures of himself to the newspaper.
    • After downing some shots in Jamaica, Roger screams he can party forever. It then cuts to him back at the office with a clearly bad hangover.
  • Hope Spot: After Stan is being held as the alien, Roger comes up with a plan to say the alien took over the body of a lizard from the pet shop. Unfortunately, by then, Bullock's patience has ended and he decides to dissect Stan right then and there.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Francine asks Steve's black lab partner to leave, causing him and Hayley to think their mother is racist. So Hayley invites a number of black boys, saying some of her best friends are black. However, none of them actually know Hayley.
  • Mistaken for Racist: Francine didn't hate Steve's lab partner because she's black, but because she's left-handed.
  • Motive Decay: Exaggerated with Roger, who goes from selling naked pictures of himself (thereby putting both him and Stan in danger of the CIA) to keep his pet bird in luxury, to merely shrugging after he finds out that the bird died.
  • Noodle Incident: Roger mentions that he crashed a yacht into an oil rig and it went up in flames, "super-dramatic." He also says he took care of the tip.
  • Oh, Crap!: Roger, when he learns that Bullock intends to subject Stan to a very painful death through dissection.
  • Photo Montage: The end credits features various shots of Roger posing nude for Playgirl.
  • Public Exposure: The main plot of the episode involves Roger publishing nude photos of himself.
  • Record Scratch: The opening theme stops with one as Stan picks up the newspaper and sees a picture of Roger naked in the woods with the headline "ALIEN SPOTTED!"
  • Shout-Out:
    • Roger's disguise is named "Parker Peters" and he sells photographs of himself to a newspaper.
    • Also, he says that "his sister Samantha was abducted by aliens when he was 12, now he hunts little green men." Klaus points out that this is Mulder's backstory from The X-Files.
    • After Stan releases knockout gas from a tank to incapacitate himself and the other agents so Roger can escape, Roger realizes that this is just like Superman II.
  • A Simple Plan: Roger says he'll go to the CIA for a week and come up empty. Then he learns of his vast expense account.
  • Take That!: Roger is quite vocal in saying that he hates Jamaica.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Roger leaves protoplasm on the bathroom stall and presents it as physical evidence of the alien's existence. Stan calls him out that no alien would be stupid enough to leave hard proof behind.
  • Waxing Lyrical: After being told of his vast expense account, Roger says he suddenly has leads in Aruba, Jamaica, Key Largo, Montego, and a place called Kokomo. Bullock tells him to book a flight, get there fast, and then take it slow.
