Steve gains a career internship at Channel 3, only to discover a dark secret about the station's doppler radar.
Tropes:
- Astronomic Zoom: As the Smiths try to flee Bathazalon, with the implication that there's nowhere to go, the camera zooms out across the universe to a new timeline where Steve makes the other choice for his project.
- Eldritch Abomination: Bathazalon the Nameless would definitely make H. P. Lovecraft proud.
- Foreshadowing: When Steve theorises that the Doppler is waking Bathazalon up and that the best way to keep it from waking it up is to destroy it... Memphis never actually confirms this.
- In addition... if the Doppler was waking Bathazalon up, why would it show Steve the vision? It was trying to warn him.
- Kick the Dog: After crushing Buckle, Bathazalon steals the cash out of his wallet.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Steve destroys the doppler radar thinking it will stop Bathazalon from destroying the world. Memphis then says it wasn't actually summoning the monster, but it was keeping it asleep.
- Series Fauxnale: Like "Hot Water," the episode was written as a potential finale in case the show wasn't renewed. It ultimately was.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: When Buckle asks what's going on, his secretary replies, in a very bored and matter of fact tone, that it's an ungodly monster from beyond time and space destroying the world.
