Stan runs for mayor to build a bullet train in Langley Falls.
Tropes:
- Awesome, but Impractical: A bullet train is really only useful for connecting distant cities, reducing travel times to about an hour between stops. It doesn't work connecting a small town to a local stadium.
- Putting on the Reich: As Roger usurps more power, he establishes a totalitarian regime in Langely Falls, including throwing most of the town into a makeshift prison at the stadium. His henchmen even wear Nazi-style uniforms and insignia, albeit ones that are far more flamboyant.
- Take That!: The episode is one long Take That! of Donald Trump, who infamously ran on a single-issue to build a wall on the Mexican border and, like Stan, was highly incompetent. He even wears a red baseball cap that says "Bullet Train," similar to Trump's "Make America Great Again" hats.
- Unexpected Successor: With Mayor Woodside dead from the events of the episode, Stan resigns as mayor and picks former president James A. Garfield as his successor.
