Finn and Lumpy Space Princess work together to unlock one of Ooo's greatest secrets before time runs out.

- Dramatic Drop: Watching Betty's raving about time travel from Prismo's palace, the Cosmic Owl drops his cup into the hot tub when she announces a desire to prevent the Mushroom War.
- Element No. 5: Turns out lumps are the fifth element, which holds all the universe together. This explains why LSP is immune to the effects of the elementals' powers. LSP is able to bring everything back to normal by being more herself than ever (i.e., being bossy and stubborn).
- Foreshadowing: Punchy, Manfred and Crunchy can be seen separated from the candy people during LSP's World-Healing Wave.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: Jake's new form, which is fully revealed at the end of the episode, can briefly be seen when Slime Princess and the people she absorbed are turned back to normal.
- Human Popsicle: Patience freezes herself into ice again, planning to try again in the future.
- Sequel Hook: Several are established by the episode's end:
- Prismo and the Cosmic Owl are watching Betty and are shocked when she mentions preventing the Mushroom War.
- Betty winds up on Mars where Normal Man greets her while holding the Wand of Dispersal that Abe Lincoln was going to use on Jake.
- Sweet P not being affected by the elemental powers aside from his horn getting fixed.
- When Ice King is hit by the World-Healing Wave, one of the two side gems on his crown falls out.
- The biggest one is at the end when Finn reunites with Jake and it's revealed that Jake now resembles more their Shapeshifting alien parent.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Patience freezes herself as Bubblegum's wave turns the rest of Ooo into candy.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Betty's plan is to use the Gems and the crown to open up a time portal and prevent Simon from becoming the Ice King in the first place, though she's a bit callous about the thought of RetGoning Ooo in the process, and Cosmic Owl and Prismo don't react well when she mentions potentially avoiding the Mushroom War.
- Spotting the Thread: Finn realizes that after all this time and without even trying to fight against the effects of the elemental that LSP isn't resisting the changes. She's flat-out immune to them.
- This Was His True Form: Inverted. When Jake is restored from being transformed into a slime person and absorbed by Slime Princess to become evaporated, he now resembles much more the Shapeshifting entity that implanted him in his father.
- Wham Shot: When Finn reunites with Jake at the end of the episode, it's revealed that Jake's appearance has changed to closely resemble the Shapeshifter that sired him.
- World-Healing Wave: LSP creates one that undoes the effects of Patience's spell. It also turns Jake into his true form as a Shapeshifter.
- World-Wrecking Wave: Princess Bubblegum starts turning all of Ooo into candy. It gets reversed by LSP.
