Gromble's Opening Line: "This'll scare you silly!"
The Great Escape: Bank robber, escape artist and master of disguise Shorty McGinty has escaped from prison once again, and when he makes his way to the dump, Ickis is mistaken for the escaped convict and taken to prison, where he tries numerous attempts to escape and return home.
Beast With Four Eyes: Krumm begins developing blurry vision and needs glasses, only to be consistently teased by his classmates, until that he's the only one who can save them from a sticky situation.
The Great Escape contains examples of:
- Air-Vent Passageway: Ickis tries this in his final attempt to break out of his cell. This, of course, fails when he ends up in the showers with the guards. Ickis seems ready to give up... until he finds the hidden tunnel Shorty used to escape earlier.
- And I'm the Queen of Sheba: After Ickis is taken to prison in Shorty's place, this exchange occurs while he is being interrogated:Ickis: Look guys, you made a mistake. I'm not Shorty, I don't know any Shorty. [laughing nervously] My name is Ickis.
Prison Guard: Right, and I'm Abraham Lincoln. - Bittersweet Ending: Ickis finally makes it back home and Shorty is taken back to prison where he rightfully belongs, but when Ickis rides the elevator down, the cable snaps and he plunges down. The chain finally comes off, but the support rope for the elevator wraps around the cage, to which he is trapped.Ickis: Not a bad room, though.
- Luck-Based Search Technique / Secret Underground Passage: Just when Ickis is about to give up, lamenting he will be stuck in prison forever, he unwittingly hits a secret switch in his cell wall, revealing the secret tunnel Shorty used to escape his cell earlier in the episode. This escape is successful.Guard: [noticing the open tunnel in Ickis/Shorty's cell] Heavens to Shaughnessy, he's done it again!
- Prison Episode: The premise of the episode.
- The Tooth Hurts: The first time he is caught trying to escape, Ickis is given a much more powerful ball and chain where his teeth are unable to penetrate. He tries biting off the chain like he did the last one, only to succeed in breaking all of his teeth.
