When the trio are tasked with babysitting the Gromble's nephew Bomble, they decide to take him to the hospital, where they end up losing him and misplacing him with a human baby.
Monsters Are Fun
The Gromble give Krumm and Oblina the task of shutting down a carnival ride that portrays monsters as cute and friendly. Since Ickis wasn't chosen for the scare, he decides to go to the carnival alone and scare everyone himself.
Baby, It's You Tropes:
- Birdcaged: Because of all the damaged Bomble caused in the Stevenson's home, they put him in a cage to prevent him from causing more damage.
- Brought Home the Wrong Kid: The Stevensons mistake Bomble, a small monster, for their own son, and take him home, which was a big mistake.
- Idiot Ball:
- Lois should have known right away that Bomble isn't her son since he is a monster and she's a human.
- When the Gromble picks up Bomble, who coughs up the father's video camera, he doesn't question where it came from, or why Bomble is wearing human clothes.
- The Diaper Change: After Krumm releases his stench around the house, the family is convinced that Bomble needs his diaper changed. The monsters take this chance to switch him with the human baby.
Monsters Are Fun Tropes:
- Apologizes a Lot: Ickis says he's sorry multiple times to his friends for stealing their scare, and again when they leave the carnival.
- Easily Forgiven: Somewhat averted. Krumm and Oblina do rescue Ickis from the sticky rug, but they are still mad at him for stealing their scare.
- I Just Want to Be Badass: Ickis goes to the carnival where the 'Monsters Are Fun' ride to prove the Gromble, Oblina and Krumm wrong that he is a scary monster. He successfully scares most of the humans on the ride.
- It's a Small Ride: The eponymous ride is a Small World-esque boat ride featuring cute-looking monsters singing "We're the cutest monsters you've ever seen, we are joyful and jolly and never mean." Outraged at the way the monsters (including himself) are depicted, The Gromble assigns Krumm and Oblina to scare the humans on the ride. Jealous that he wasn't chosen for the assignment, Ickis scares the humans instead. It turns out that the humans liked being scared and the barker takes advantage of this so that the humans will pay more to ride it.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Ickis accidentally gets himself trapped onto a flypaper covered rug, and when Krumm and Oblina arrive, they at first plan to leave him there stuck to teach him a lesson.
