The arrival of one monkey faunus causes tensions to emerge among Team RWBY, a matter which is more complicated when a Dust shipment is attacked by the White Fang... and Dr. Eggman.

- Continuity Nod: Knuckles tells Blake and Sun about the history of the Knuckles Tribe and Chaos as seen in Sonic Adventure. He also owns up to how Eggman tricked him in their first encounter during Sonic 3 & Knuckles, which eventually got him to learn to listen to all sides first.
- Enemy Mine: Dr. Eggman has joined up with Salem and the White Fang.
- Mythology Gag: When Knuckles fights Roman Torchwick, when the latter mocks him for having no Aura, he recovers and rephrases his line from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022).Knuckles: Do I look like I need Aura?
- No-Sell: Roman tries shooting Knuckles in the head point-blank. Knuckles doesn't even lose a Ring from it.
- Punched Across the Room: After Roman's unsuccessful attempt at just shooting him, Knuckles responds by punching him through several shipping containers into the water.
- Wham Episode: Dr. Eggman finally makes his first move and is revealed to have teamed up with Salem.
