"What was the difference between Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, an E-rated game, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted, a T-rated game? The latter was brown, and had about five minutes of live-action story cutscenes wherein people with bad haircuts threaten to steal your ride and your girl. There's no profanity, nobody dies despite all logic saying they probably should, and lyrics are conservatively censorednote , not only to remove profanity, but basically anything referencing sex, guns or violence. There was nothing objectionable about Most Wanted, but where my parents gave me Hot Pursuit 2 at the age of three, it took weeks of persuading from my older cousin before my mom would cave and buy me Most Wanted, simply because of this letter on the box. There is nothing in Most Wanted that can't be done in its E-rated predecessors. It just happened to be the best implementation of those features at the time, yet kids with parents like mine had to fight to be allowed to experience it."
