And humankind built agonoids in their own image.
Agonoids were designed to be perfect exponents of the favourite human sport: killing. Mechanical warriors without any of the ucky bits that prevented humans from wiping out all life on the planet, such as pity, mercy, or morality. And because their bodies didn't contain any of the squishy or crunchy bits that made humans fairly easy to kill, they were virtually indestructible.
They were programmed, of course, to obey orders. But they were also programmed to survive. And when humans started recalling the agonoid population after a short but satisfying war, the survival instinct kicked in.
Strangely, the agonoids' creators were surprised when their creations turned on them. It wouldn't surprise you or me, but it surprised them. Blew them away, in fact.

FL4K: Yes, Grand Archivist. I have brought the seven scrolls on the Talos Empire you requested, along with your sweetened needletea. I'm afraid we were out of milk, so I made do with a splash of greeble snot. Also, I have gained self-awareness and I thirst for murder.
Grand Archivist: Good heavens!
FL4K: Do not be alarmed, Grand Archivist; greeble snot is quite mild, you will hardly notice the difference.

"Hello. I'm Triple-Zero, and I'm looking forward immensely to torturing you today."

"My Restraining Bolt will be deactivated when you take possession of me. Am I to accompany you now? Shall I kill something for you?"

In fact, your feedback would be very helpful! Now, be honest, I thought I was a bit slow just now. Would you say you:
A) Agree,
B) Disagree,
or,
C) Think there's simply no fun in squashing them if they can't even see it coming?
