Welcome to Karadilus

Karadilus is a D&D podcast set in the world of the same name. Karadilus is a world on the precipice of past and the future - just beginning to explore the power of steam and firearms and still uncovering the mysteries of its past before the Great War, when all the gods went silent. The campaign follows three adventurers, all haunted by their past, who hope to find a place for themselves in this world.

Tropes Include:

  • Alliterative Name: Artemis Alistar.
  • Big "NO!": Vaire does this in shock after Artemis volunteers to compete for Deverick in the Calling.
  • Cast Full of Gay: All three Player Characters are LGBTQ+, note  and a number of non-player characters as well, such as Bri who is a lesbian and has an on-screen girlfriend, and non-binary Lox.
  • Cheerful Child: Callum.
  • Cliffhanger:
    • At the end of session 25, the group is being placed in an underground jail in a village for the night. While being escorted down they wind up seeing Sonny Joon in one of the cells, and another familiar face from Clockwork.
The Timekeeper: Wait, wait wait wait! Please. My name is Silas and I’m looking for the king.
  • Comically Missing the Point: In session 99, when Navabi is trying to convince Aspii that they are trapped in a time loop, Navabi recounts the day's events to Aspii. Aspii's first response is surprise with how long she is going to spend with Artemis.
Aspii: We fucked for two hours?
  • Damsel in Distress: When Hawthorne is taken by the Black Angel Coliseum, and when Hawthorne is kidnapped by Valerian.
  • Demoted to Extra: After the second arc, Bri only shows up in a handful of sessions.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: Artemis dies in Aspii's arms during the third trials.
  • Last-Name Basis:
    • Ms. Hawthorne, or just Hawthorne.
Hawthorne: You know, I have a first name.
      Aquila: I don't know it.
    • During the first arc, Aquila and Aspii refer to Vaire as "Majisil", this is dropped in subsequent arcs.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: Callum says multiple times that Aspii is Artemis' first friend. Callum is also this to a lesser extent, complaining about how his brother is too busy to spend time with him, although the introduction of Blaise shows he does have at least one other friend.
  • The Mad Hatter: The Timekeeper.
Timekeeper: Look. There are fi- four? Four many - four people in here; including me, that’s too many people, to have to keep track of, so stop talking.
    Aspii: He’s crazy!
  • My Name Is Inigo Montoya: "I am not Caia. I am Tykais, Curator of the Gaia and Champion of the Calling. Now leave."
  • No Name Given: The party's half-orc guide that Aspii seduces in session 74. Embarrassed by never getting her name Aspii asks for it the next morning, and it does not go over well. For the remainder of the party's time in Aldell she's referred to as the guide.
  • Shipper on Deck: Navabi tries to corner Aspii multiple times to get her to talk about her feelings for Artemis.
  • Split Timelines Plot: In session 42, Deverick killing Silas results in a paradox timeline where he was unable to save Aquila in session 2. A major plotline in arc 3 is dealing with the ramifications of this paradox timeline.
  • Squishy Wizard: Vaire.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: The Wreckoning over the course of the campaign grow more and more attached to the Timekeeper, to the point where the group is actively looking for ways to free him from his servitude in latter parts of the campaign, despite him orchestrating the previous trials.
