Basic Trope: A negatively stereotyped character (usually a villain) modeled after 70s/80s punk.
- Straight: Sid dresses in leather getup and has Delinquent Hair and a whole bunch of piercings. He also is aggressive, rude, and prone to violent and destructive behavior for stupid, petty, and often nonsensical reasons.
- Exaggerated: Punks are Always Chaotic Evil.
- Downplayed: Sid is a Jerk with a Heart of Gold who dresses in punk getup.
- Justified: Sid was enticed by the punk style of wear and conduct.
- Inverted: Sid the punk is The Hero.
- Subverted: Sid is thought of as dangerous and violent because of his punk tendencies. He turns out to genuinely be a really nice guy - Moral Guardians just negatively stereotype him.
- Double Subverted:
- He only pretends to be good.
- Sid is pretty nice, but tends to be a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
- Parodied: Sid is a Rule-Abiding Rebel, but everyone comically overreacts to him anyway.
- Averted: The punk lifestyle isn't portrayed as specifically evil.
- Enforced: We need some regular crooks our heroes can beat up without getting into trouble with the Moral Guardians.
- Discussed: "Why's he always dressed in ripped leather and acting all loud and aggressive?"
- Played for Laughs: Sid is a really loud Attention Whore in punk getup who's ultimately a Harmless Villain.
- Played for Horror: Sid is a Serial Killer who brutalizes his victims before killing them.
