Basic Trope: A man gropes a woman on a crowded train or subway car.

  • Straight: Ayano is groped while riding the subway.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Ayano is gang-raped while on the subway.
    • Ayano is groped by multiple different men throughout her commute.
  • Downplayed:
    • A man leans over to catch a sniff of Ayano's perfume.
    • During rush hour, Ayano feels someone brush against her butt, but she can't tell if it was intentional.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Men go out of their way to avoid groping Ayano.
  • Gender-Inverted: Ayano gropes an attractive person on the subway.
  • Subverted:
    • Ayano thinks someone is groping her, but it's just someone's bag.
    • Ayano accuses a guy of groping her, but the security camera footage reveals he didn't.
    • Someone thinks Ayano is being groped by a stranger, but it turns out she's in a relationship with the guy who's groping her, and they're into sexual roleplay or exhibitionism.
  • Double Subverted:
    • ... But the owner of the bag then gropes her for real.
    • ... But the footage shows that she was groped—just not by the guy she was accusing.
  • Parodied: Ayano is stripped completely naked while on the subway.note
  • Zig-Zagged:
    • Ayano is groped on the subway, but the guy who groped her was being controlled by someone else.
    • The train stops suddenly, and a guy accidentally grabs Ayano's breasts to stop himself from falling. But then he doesn't let go.
  • Averted: Nobody is groped on public transit.
  • Enforced:
    • The writers need to show that Ayano is So Beautiful, It's a Curse.
    • Ayano is going through puberty and the writers want her to realize she's not a kid anymore. Being groped on the train makes her realize she's no longer seen as a child and is her first experience with sexual harassment.
    • The writers wanted to address the issue of train molesters or sexual harassment.
  • Lampshaded: "Why do perverts always decide to grope me on the train, of all places?"
  • Invoked: Ayano's Stalker with a Crush learns her commuting schedule so that he can ride the same train as her.
  • Exploited:
    • Ayano's friend takes a picture of the man groping her and blackmails him with it.
    • Daisuke disguises himself as a woman to catch a serial groper.
  • Defied:
    • Strict laws are passed against groping and undercover policemen are stationed to watch out for molesters.
    • Ayano refuses to take the train, or boards the women-only cars.
    • Ayano disguises herself as a man so that she isn't targeted.
  • Discussed: "Be careful on the train. At this hour, there are creeps who will take any opportunity they can to feel you up."
  • Conversed: "Considering what a Cute Bruiser Ayano is, I'm impressed she didn't send that guy flying out the window."
  • Implied: Ayano is seen on the subway. She suddenly blushes, turns and looks around angrily.
  • Deconstructed: Ayano becomes fearful of taking public transit, so she refuses to take public transit during rush hour, or avoids it entirely where possible. These avoidance strategies quickly cause problems: she has to wake up extremely early to commute, and she only visits places within walking distance of her home.
  • Reconstructed: Ayano realizes it's not healthy for her life to revolve around fear of train molesters. She resumes taking the train and works on gaining the courage to speak up if she's groped.
  • Played for Laughs: Black comedy train molestation.
  • Played for Drama:
  • Played for Horror: Ayano is a Serial Killer who murders those who molest her or other girls on the train.
