Basic Trope: After a seemingly permanent split, a group of characters assembles once more.
- Straight: Five years after going their separate ways, Bob calls Alice and Charlie to come back together as the Super Tropers after Emperor Evulz returns.
- Exaggerated: Twenty years after Bob's death caused a massive rift in the super tropers, Alice calls Charlie and Dave to join Bob's son Bob Jr. in the new Super Tropers.
- Downplayed:
- Alice and Bob got married after the Super Tropers dissolved, so putting the band back together just meant getting in touch with Charlie.
- Alice, Bob, and Charlie have joined up again, but there are still several other members of the Super Tropers who have not. The story ends with only the three of them together.
- Justified: The Super Tropers only come together when there is a legitimate threat to the entire planet. While there have been villains in the interim, none were on a planet-destroying scale.
- Inverted: Breaking the Fellowship
- Subverted: Bob convinces Alice that the Super Tropers need to be rebuilt, but Charlie likes his new post-superhero life...
- Double Subverted: ...Until Charlie realizes that Emperor Evulz could very well destroy the world and changes his mind.
- Parodied: Bob decided it's time to put the band together, but the band had been broken up in name only so he just has to put the sign back up over the door.
- Zig Zagged: Bob convinces Alice that the world needs the Super Tropers again, but Charlie wants no part of it. Charlie changes his mind, but Bob dies in battle soon thereafter. Alice is too distraught after Bob's death to keep going and quits leaving just Charlie, the one who didn't want to be the hero, as the only hero left. Bob's son recruits Charlie into the new Super Tropers, and Alice rejoins a few years later.
- Averted: When the Super Tropers break up, nobody appears to have any intention of bringing them back together.
- Enforced: Fans have been clamoring for a Super Tropers sequel despite the fact the last film ended with everyone living Happily Ever After.
- Lampshaded: "I know they say superheroes never stay dead, but I didn't know that rule extended to their teams as well."
- Invoked: When Emperor Evulz arrives, the government bluffs and says the Super Tropers will come back together to stop him.
- Exploited: Early into his evil plans, Emperor Evulz sends hit squads after Alice, Bob, and Charlie in order to stop them before they can put the band back together.
- Defied: When Bob calls Charlie, Charlie gives him a very brusque "No!", slams down the phone, and blocks all calls from Bob's number.
