- Claire has a big bag, while Alice's is tiny. It turns out that Alice didn't bother to bring most of the stuff she'd need, forcing Claire to pack for both.
- Claire packed all that luggage because she was planning on moving there, and used the "vacation" as a way to say goodbye to her friends.
- Double Subverted:
- She puts back her winter bag and takes everything else with her.
- Unfortunately, she turns out to have only stuffed animals in her other bags.
- Parodied: When Alice and Claire arrive they try to surprise the others, but their cover is blown due to Lance spotting Claire's pile of luggage.
- Zig-Zagged: Claire initially packs a lot, but Alice makes her pack less. She comes back with the same number of bags, only lighter. Then, as they go on the road, Claire loses some of her bags, forcing her to make do without them. However, a Good Samaritan finds them and hands them back to her at the beach house.

- Claire packs a reasonable amount for the beach trip.
- Claire isn't going to the beach.
- Enforced: "Claire is starting to become a
Mary Sue, we need to start giving her some flaws. Any ideas?" "Oh, let's make her overpack for the Beach Episode!" - Lampshaded:
- Alice: "Maybe we should have gotten that loading truck after all."

- Exploited: Claire's younger brother Seth wants to remove her from their family's will, so he kills their father and puts the murder weapon in her luggage knowing she'll overpack and take it with her elsewhere.
- Defied: Alice oversees Claire's packing to make sure she doesn't bring too much.
