Basic Trope: A villainous woman who encourages her husband (or another man) to commit evil acts.

  • Straight: Alice encourages her husband Bob to try and kill King Charles so that he can be the next king.
  • Exaggerated: Alice encourages Bob to kill a long list of people including young children, among many other horrible acts in order to become the next king.
  • Downplayed: Alice encourages Bob to seriously injure King Charles.
  • Justified:
    • Alice doesn't know if she could be the queen (at least not yet), but has a good feeling that her husband could be the next king.
    • Bob is a Henpecked Husband and suffers a lot of abuse from Alice as it is.
    • Alice wants to wield power but doesn't want the accountability that comes with it and prefers to have Bob getting blamed for everything she orders him to do.
  • Inverted:
    • Alice encourages Bob to resurrect King Charles in order to save the kingdom from the evil King Edward.
    • Alice acts as a Morality Chain for Bob.
  • Gender Inverted: Bob encourages Alice to kill Queen Delilah so that she can become the new queen.
  • Subverted: Bob only thinks Alice wants him to kill the king, and it turns out he's wrong.
  • Double Subverted: She actually wants him to kill the queen.
  • Parodied:
    • Alice's evil plan is to get Bob to poke King Charles' pet dog.
    • Bob is mildly inconvenienced by Alice making him kill the king, as if Alice simply told him that they were going to spend a while at a store that Bob is uninterested in.
  • Zig-Zagged: Sometimes Alice has influence on Bob's plans, but sometimes she doesn't.
  • Averted: Nobody's spouse makes them do evil things.
  • Enforced: To give a reason for why Bob is committing regicide if he's really not that evil.
  • Lampshaded: "My darling, don't fret about spilling blood. The rewards are worth more than human life. If you do as I say, nobody will ever stand in your way."
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: Jenna, Alice's handmaiden who is also secretly The Mistress of Bob, uses Alice's sway over Bob to have her suggest horrible things to do. Her goal is to eventually have the rest of the kingdom trace back the whole thing to Alice so she can be queen in her stead after Alice gets executed, possibly by Bob himself.
  • Defied: Bob is tired of Alice making him commit villainous acts and divorces her.
  • Discussed: "Bob is more Weak-Willed than actually evil, trust me. It's that c*nt Alice you should be going after."
  • Conversed: "Evil women without superpowers usually don't act directly, their husbands/male partners are their blame shield indeed."

You know, I've had enough of Lady Macbeth telling me to do such terrible things, but I don't have much of a choice.
