Basic Trope: An internet video viralizes in a short amount of time.

  • Straight:
    • Alice uploads an embarrassing video of Bob trying to do a flip on TouYobe, but failing. The next day, he finds it out and it has 20 million views.
    • Alice gets drunk and dances naked at a party, which Bob uploads in revenge for the flip video. It gets a million views in an hour.
  • Exaggerated:
    • In one second, the video was seen by every being on the Earth.
    • There are 20 trillion views, around two and a half times the world's population.
  • Downplayed: Alice's TouYobe channel has few subscribers, but the video still got 50 views the next day.
  • Justified:
    • Alice is a famous TouYober, so it should be expected that many people see it.
    • Bob is a celebrity himself.
    • In another planet, there is an organization of aliens that like to see humans' embarrassing videos, and there are lots of them.
    • The view counter was broken.
    • Alice actually used Inspect Element when she showed it to Bob. It wasn't actually watched by anyone but her.
    • The video was posted on multiple websites.
  • Inverted: Alice somehow manage to gets a negative number of views.
  • Subverted:
    • The counter updates really fast, but stops on 10.
    • Alice uploads a video, and only gets tens of thousands of views in the first week, then only a trickle of views weeks after that.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Then it resumes updating and gets 20 million views.
    • The algorithm picks it up the next year, and Alice's video suddenly has millions of views.
  • Parodied:
    • The second the video is uploaded on TouYobe, the view and like counter jump off the screen and flood the entire planet.
    • The comments section for the video is filled with confusion over why this video went viral.
  • Zig Zagged: The counter, for whatever reason, keeps decreasing and increasing.
  • Averted: The video goes viral in a realistic amount of time, or doesn't go viral at all.
  • Enforced: "We need Bob to become even more embarrassed by this. Maybe we should make the views increase extremely fast, that'll be funny."
  • Lampshaded: "How is that even possible? There are more views than there are people on Earth".
  • Invoked: Someone finds out Alice's TouYobe channel, spreads the word about it, and it becomes famous. When she uploads Bob's video, all these people watch it.
  • Exploited: Alice enjoys the situation to easily become a famous TouYober, after the hit of her previous video.
  • Defied: Tou Yobe forbids people to upload videos that humiliate others, so the video is taken down before it is published.
  • Discussed: "Quick, everyone! Alice uploaded a video of Bob failing on doing a flip!"
  • Conversed: "Wow, that video spread really fast. How is that even possible?"
  • Implied: Bob found out the video the other day and says many people saw it.
  • Deconstructed: Bob really hurt himself after he fell and was hospitalized, and still, millions of people laugh at his situation.
  • Reconstructed: Alice apologizes to Bob and gets the video off air.
  • Played For Drama: Alice is forcing everyone on the planet to watch the video.

I accidentally published something embarrassing in the unabridged version, and before I removed it, 20 million people had already seen it!
