Basic Trope: Showing power over someone by putting them in a headlock.
- Straight: Flash Young's most well known gags is him putting either Pete Perkins or Those Two Guys Harry Oswalt and Eddie Roque in a headlock.
- Exaggerated:
- Flash is capable of doing this to up to 50 people with each arm, and he can even do this with his legs!
- Flash is capable of taking down an Eldritch Abomination with this one move.
- Downplayed: Flash usually grips someone by the hair to tease them and play around.
- Justified: C'mon, if you were a 6'4", 145 pound slugger like Flash, you'd be doing the same thing to weaker beings.
- Inverted: Flash instead carries others as a show of power over others.
- Subverted: Flash seems to grab Pete... But only to shake him around a bit.
- Double Subverted: After that, he proceeds to put on the headlock.
- Parodied: Combination of both exaggerations: Flash is capable of putting up to 50 eldritch abominations in headlocks (100 considering it's 50 under each arm), and another 50 with his legs!
- Zig-Zagged: Flash doesn't know whether or not to put on the headlock.
- Averted: Flash doesn't put anyone in a headlock.
- Enforced: Establishing Character Moment for Flash's Barbaric Bully nature.
- Lampshaded: Pete cries, "Ow! Uncle! Uncle! Okay, could you please get me out of this headlock? It's starting to hurt now..."
- Invoked: Flash growls, "If any of ya's ever get the balls t'try an' pull that dumb fuckin' stunt again, yer gonna end up blue faced by the time I'm done with ya."
- Exploited: Either Pete or Harry and Eddie kick Flash's nuts while he's giving them the headlock.
- Defied: Flash decides against putting anyone in a headlock. That would be too quick and merciful for his victim.
- Discussed: "Y'know, why does Flash always have to be so rough whenever he puts us in a headlock!?"
- Conversed: "Good ol' schoolyard bully tactic: Choke the life out of your victim until they die."
- Implied: Harry, Eddie, and Pete often complain about their necks hurt, but they refuse to say more and resort to flimsy excuses when asked about it, often with Flash giving them death glares.
- Played for Laughs: Flash does this to Harry, Eddie, and Pete, all of whom are bearing some of the wackiest, hammiest expressions as part of a funny photo op. This proceeds to become a Running Gag.
- Played for Drama:
- Flash squeezes so hard, that the blood is cut off from the brain. Congrats Flash, you're now wanted for murder!
- Flash squeezes so hard, that he accidentally neck snaps his victim. Congrats Flash, now you're wanted for murder!
- Played for Horror: Flash squeezes so hard that the head pops. Congrats Flash, now you're wanted for murder!
- Deconstructed: Flash puts on the headlock, and accidentally squeezes too hard. Congrats Flash, now you're wanted for life threatening assault!
- Reconstructed: Flash, after doing time in juvie, learns his lesson and doesn't put on such a tight headlock that his victim actually gets hurt.
