Basic Trope: A Mook that is incapable of damaging player characters.

  • Straight: Micromice attempt to attack party characters, but they No-Sell all their attacks.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Micromice instantly die after they try to attack.
    • Micromice automatically die after 10 seconds of being on the field of battle.
  • Downplayed: Micromice are capable of dealing Scratch Damage, but nothing more.
  • Justified:
    • Micromice, as the name would imply, are so small that they're completely incapable of damaging the player characters.
    • The party is an Outside-Context Problem to the micromice's ecology. note
  • Inverted: Instakill Mook
  • Subverted: Micromice have harmless attacks... except for when they die, at which point they explode for heavy damage.
  • Double Subverted: Their explosion is just for show and does no damage.
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged: Micromice have a wide range of different behaviours, and each Micromouse might be or might not be capable of damaging the player depending on how they act.
  • Averted: Every enemy in the game is a threat, no matter how minor.
  • Enforced: "Our game is too difficult! Let's make the early-game mooks completely harmless, so the players can get the hang of the fighting mechanics before they face any real threats."
  • Lampshaded: "Hmmm? Did a bug bite me? Oh, never mind, it's just a Micromouse."
  • Invoked: A wizard transforms his enemies into Micromice to render them harmless.
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: The Micromice are trained by their master to attack in huge hordes, making them very deadly despite their puny size. Even if one is harmless, a thousand of them might not be.
  • Discussed: "Don't worry too much about the Micromice over there. You'd need a magnifying glass to clearly see them, and a microscope to see the wounds they'll give you."
  • Conversed: "What's even the point of those mouse things? They do no damage and do nothing but waste your time!"
  • Implied: A pack of Micromice challenges the party to a battle. Cut to after the battle, with the Micromice dead in the heap and the party entirely unharmed.
  • Deconstructed: The trope is played in a way that shows various logical and moral problems with the trope as normally played.
  • Reconstructed: The trope is played straight, but with the problems raised by the deconstruction dealt with or addressed.
  • Played for Laughs: A huge horde of Micromice is shown attacking one of the player characters, who fails to even notice that they're there.
  • Played for Drama: ???
  • Played for Horror: The Micromice attack the party with all their might, but they can't seem to deal any damage. Suddenly, one of the party members swings their sword, and in that moment, the Micromice realize that death is inevitable.
