Basic Trope: Goats (and occasionally rams) are portrayed as creepy and/or evil, and are often associated with demonic/satanic themes.

  • Straight: Gary the goat is frightening and evil.
  • Exaggerated:
  • Downplayed: Goats are seen as fairly creepy, but aren't necessarily focused on much.
  • Justified:
    • Gary has some reason to be as evil as he is, such as a Freudian Excuse.
    • Goats are occasionally known to be aggressive animals in real life.
  • Inverted: Sweet Sheep
  • Subverted: Although Gary is believed to be evil, he is revealed to be Good All Along.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Though Dark Is Not Evil is in full effect—just because Gary isn't evil doesn't mean he can't be rather terrifying.
    • Gary becomes a villain.
  • Parodied: Alice and Bob are terrified at the sight of Gary, a normal goat on a farm eating grass.
  • Zig-Zagged: Gary the goat is seen as creepy, and isn’t evil at first, but he later becomes evil. However, other goat characters are not seen as creepy and are good.
  • Averted: Goats are not creepy/evil at all.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: “Why are goats always depicted as demonic? I guess their horns and weird eyes are creepy, but do people actually find them scary?”
