Basic Trope: Conflict between werewolves and vampires.

  • Straight: Wolfgang, a werewolf, regularly fights against Valentino, a vampire.
  • Exaggerated: Werewolves and vampires are constantly at war with each other, to the point in which they often try to commit genocide against one another.
  • Downplayed:
    • Wolfgang and Valentino have some conflict, but it's more of a Friendly Rivalry.
    • Alternatively, there is some Fantastic Racism against both species, but it never gets too far beyond discriminatory comments.
  • Justified: Werewolves and vampires consider themselves to be total opposites, due to werewolves' more animalistic and untamed nature in comparison to vampires' classy and refined nature.
  • Inverted: Wolfgang and Valentino are best friends.
  • Subverted: Wolfgang and Valentino are introduced fighting against each other, but this is because they're fighters in a wrestling ring. After the match, they go out for lunch.
  • Double Subverted: They still do bicker constantly about whose species is better, though.
  • Parodied:
    • The reason why werewolves and vampires have a conflict is because somewhere down the line, a vampire faked throwing a ball at a werewolf and he hasn't forgiven him since.
    • The conflict between vampires and werewolves is treated as a bickering petty rivalry between neighbors.
  • Zig-Zagged: Sometimes werewolves and vampires have conflict, but sometimes they don't.
  • Averted:
    • Werewolves and vampires don't have any conflict.
    • Werewolves and/or vampires don't exist in the setting.
  • Enforced: To add some Fantastic Racism to the setting.
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: Negative rumors about vampires are intentionally spread in werewolf society, or vice versa.
  • Exploited: After being cornered by a pack of werewolves and vampires, a human victim says how much one of the sides is better than the order in order to manipulate them into fighting each other, thus giving him an opportunity to escape during the conflict.
  • Defied: A Hunter of Monsters arrives, and the vampires and werewolves put aside their differences and become allies in order to avoid being killed.
  • Discussed: "A werewolf and a vampire... I bet they're not gonna get along."
  • Conversed: "I wonder why werewolves and vampires usually never get along in fiction."
