Basic Trope: A transformation that changes one body part at a time.
- Straight: Whenever Luna transforms into a werewolf, the change starts in her hands, then progresses into her arms, head, torso, legs, feet, and then finally she grows a tail.
- Exaggerated: Luna has a very Slow Transformation that progresses with each individual cell.
- Downplayed: Luna's arms transform first, then her head, then her torso, and then her legs/the tail.
- Justified:
- The body isn't used to having every part transform all at once, so it's doing it in stages instead.
- The transforming agent (be it magical or chemical) is slowly spreading through the blood stream.
- Inverted: The transformation happens immediately.
- Subverted: Luna sees her hands start to change - and then right after that, she suddenly turns into a full werewolf.
- Double Subverted: Only her top half has turned into a werewolf. The bottom half still has to change.
- Parodied: The transformation is rather unsettling - however, Luna doesn't seem to be in any pain or distress at all, and is mostly just mildly inconvenienced that it's taking so long.
- Zig-Zagged: Sometimes Luna transforms bit-by-bit, and sometimes it happens all at once.
- Averted:
- Every time Luna transforms, the whole body does so at once.
- Luna never transforms.
- Enforced:
- Can sometimes be a way of letting the viewers be in anticipation of what the end result will look like.
- To show why Luna might be more confused while transforming.
- Lampshaded: ???
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: ???
- Discussed: Alice and Bob talk about how transformation works, with special emphasis on slow and bit-by-bit transformations.
- Conversed: "I wonder why transformations often occur one body part at a time. You'd think it'd be over with much more quickly, especially if you've been doing it for a while."
