Basic Trope: A child who hates adults.
- Straight: Jimmy is a 10-year-old boy who doesn't like grown-ups.
- Exaggerated:
- Jimmy is a 5-year-old who LOATHES anyone over 18 and wants to commit genocide against them.
- Jimmy hates anyone older than him.
- Jimmy's hatred of adults continues even after he becomes one himself.
- Downplayed: Jimmy finds his parents boring and annoying, but thinks his lax teacher or his older adult brother is alright.
- Justified:
- Jimmy is a Bratty Half-Pint who doesn't like being told what to do.
- Jimmy was molested by an adult and doesn't trust adults with authority.
- Jimmy lives in a Crapsack World and feels adults are responsible for screwing it up – and that it was wrong for him to have been born.
- Growing up, the adults failed to protect Jimmy from people who bullied and abused him (sometimes the adults were just as bad and immature as the people bullying/abusing him), so it would make sense for Jimmy to resent older people.
- Inverted:
- Jimmy is a child who sucks up to adults for their approval.
- Jimmy hates other children his age.
