Basic Trope: A page intending to teach readers about a work is out of date.

  • Straight: Super-Powered Robot Meter Maids, an Animesque webcomic, has 1000 strips and the info page was written around the 500th. Thus, it doesn't contain important plot updates that have happened since then, like Neo and Nixie's Relationship Upgrade, or Coro being Put on a Bus.
  • Exaggerated: The info page was written around the 100th strip. There are now 3000. Many Wham Episodes have happened since then.
  • Downplayed: The info page describes a character who has since been Demoted to Extra as a main character, but there's always a chance they could come back.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: The info page updates with plot events before they happen in the actual webcomic.
  • Subverted: The info page is a relic. However, there's another About page that's more up to date.
  • Double Subverted: But barely. It was last updated a few weeks after the ancient info page.
  • Parodied: The info page is so out-of-date, it describes events that happened to the characters before the events of the webcomic!
  • Zig-Zagged: The info page is updated sporadically, sometimes reflecting current events accurately, while other times being outdated.
  • Averted:
    • The info page is kept up-to-date.
    • There is no info page.
  • Enforced: Nobody really reads the info page, so there's no reason for the authors to update it.
  • Lampshaded: "I'll update this page when I can! (Ten years later...)"
  • Invoked: A character in the webcomic has had a Faceā€“Heel Turn, but still wants people to think they're good, so they prevent the page from being updated.
  • Exploited: A character with amnesia reads their own info page and learns about their past self.
  • Defied: Characters in the webcomic, in-universe, threaten the author to keep their page up to date.
  • Discussed: "You think someone's keeping track of our adventures?" "They're pretty lazy with it!"
  • Conversed: "If you want to start reading Super-Powered Robot Meter Maids, don't bother with the info page. It's so out of date."
  • Played for Laughs: The characters frequently make jokes and humorous remarks about the outdated info page, highlighting its inaccuracy and irrelevance.
  • Played for Drama: The outdated info page becomes a source of confusion and misinformation for the characters, leading to misunderstandings and conflicts.
  • Implied: Although the info page is not directly mentioned or shown, there are subtle hints and references in the webcomic that suggest its outdated nature.
  • Untwisted: Initially, it seems like the info page will be updated, but as the webcomic progresses, it becomes clear that it will remain outdated throughout.
  • Deconstructed: The characters heavily rely on the outdated info page, leading to incorrect assumptions and misguided decisions, ultimately causing negative consequences.
  • Reconstructed: Despite its outdated nature, the info page serves as a nostalgic reference point for long-time readers, preserving the early history of the webcomic.

You can visit Abandoned Info Page, but they haven't updated it in a while.
