Say hello to the Jackal.

  • THE MOVIE POSTER. (AKA the front pages image) It's a screaming face made from pictures of other scary faces, notably the ghosts.
    • Even the link's website, IMP Awards, gave it the Creepiest Poster award the year the film was out, with this description:
      "Definitely not a poster the IMP would put up on his bedroom wall. Imagine running into that in the middle of the night."
  • The Jackal, known as the "Charles Manson of ghosts" — and with good reason. In life, he was a brutal serial killer and rapist named Ryan Kuhn who preyed exclusively on lower-class women, with his preferred target being prostitutes. He turned himself in and was committed to an insane asylum — where he only became worse.
    • From his backstory in the Special Features;
      When Ryan attacked a nurse, the doctors decided to put him in a straitjacket and tightened it whenever Ryan acted out, contorting his limbs horribly. However, Ryan gnawed through it, so the doctors locked Ryan's head in a cage-type helmet and locked him in a dark, basement cell, where he grew to hate any human contact, and would cower and scream madly whenever approached. When a fire broke out at the asylum, while everyone else escaped, Ryan chose to stay behind and meet his deserved fate...
  • The other ghosts are nothing to sneeze at.
    • The Angry Princess, a young woman with severe body dysmorphic disorder (fueled by a series of abusive relationships) who became addicted to plastic surgery. After trying to perform a surgical procedure on herself, and ending up blind in one eye, she committed suicide in her bathtub. In death, she appears as a naked woman with black eyes, covered in bleeding knife wounds.
    • The Torso, or Jimmy "The Gambler" Gambino was once a gambler who refused to turn down bets to keep his reputation intact. After losing a bet on a boxing match with a mafia member named Larry "The Finger" Vitello, Larry makes an example out of Jimmy by chopping him up, wrapping his body parts in cellophane, and tossing them into the ocean after discovering that he was cleared out of money. Larry's ghost shows up in the film as a headless torso covered in cellophane dragging itself across the floor, accompanied by his screaming severed head. Brrrr...
