  • The implications of the female hitchhiker the main characters picks up - she is the Final Girl of the Hewitts previous rampage, and it's heavily implied she had to watch her entire family get butchered and cannibalized. The baby Erin saves from the farmhouse is heavily implied to be related to the girl, and it's very possible she killed herself because she thought even the infant had met the same horrific fate as the others.
    • Even the Hewitts sparing the baby carries some horrible implications - there's really no reason to keep the baby alive if they're just going to kill it and process it for food like they do with everyone else. It's likely that the Hewitts plan on raising the infant as one of their own, which is what Luda Mae did with Leatherface, and what Word of God states is what happened to Jedediah.
  • Sheriff Hoyt, who makes your average Dirty Cop look like a crossing guard - he's corrupt, abusive, a serial killer, a cannibal, and is heavily implied to be a serial rapist. And, as the prequel reveals, he's not even the REAL sheriff, as Hoyt killed the original and assumed his identity (his real name is Charles).
  • Andy having his leg sawed off , carried to the basement and later hung on a meathook in a dark , damp , to top it off humid disgusting furnace room above a piano . The thought of hanging there with a hook impaled into your back awaiting your fate on top of how uncomfortable it must have been . Andy’s attempts to try to free himself but only makes the hook go deeper into his back . Later Erin sees Andy weakened and tries to help him off but fails . Andy asks Erin to end his suffering.
  • Morgan’s ordeal being abused by Sheriff Hoyt , thrown into the basement and found by Erin in the tub with an injury in his back possibly Morgan was also impaled on a meathook .
