As a Nightmare Fuel page, all spoilers are unmarked as per wiki policy. You Have Been Warned!

  • Let's first start off with how we got to where we are at the beginning of the game: Humanity is constantly fighting a losing battle against demons. Most of them had been wiped out and their only hope is for a group of ninjas who train everyday to fight off these monsters.
  • And then of cource there's the story behind the Music Box quest for the later half of the game: basically, the Demon King cursed some poor man to be trapped inside it, and play that same tune FOREVER. The worst part of this, is it takes SEVERAL Messengers working together to even FIGURE OUT what the music box is for, and what to do about it - that doesn't include all the time travel puzzles the Ninja has to pull off to get the Notes.
  • A late game level, the Corrupted Future, an Eldritch Location where the ground is made out of black flesh with blinking eyes, the moon in the background is completely shattered, and also in the background shadowy human-shaped figures are falling from the sky and into the sea, possibly humans being tortured and killed over and over for eternity. At the end of the level the player encounters a huge invincible Eldritch Abomination which can eat the Ninja in one bite, forcing the player to make a mad dash back to the entrance. Even more notable this is one of the few parts where the game is completely and utterly devoid of any form of humor or quirky dialogue. Things are ''that'' bad. If there's any solace, it's that this particular future completely ceases to exist once the Curse is destroyed and the demons are defeated for good.
    Ninja: Never... again...
