  • Multiple times throughout the game, the Ninja will either say or do something ridiculous, only to be called out by someone else, usually the Shopkeeper. And because the Ninja usually doesn't have any snarky quips at hand, he's rendered speechless and we're treated to an ellipsis in the dialogue box each time. It may as well be his catchphrase.
  • The Shopkeeper's cabinet Overly Long Gag. The gag reaches its peak at the end of the Tower of Time, right before the boss fight - the Shopkeeper is conspicuously absent, and you're probably tempted to try and open the cabinet since she's not there. If you try, however, the Shopkeeper immediately comes in through the door and mocks you for thinking it'd be that easy, and you can go through the whole cycle again. And then the gag comes back again when you finally get the chance to open the cabinet but try to leave. On top of this, the cabinet ultimately turns out to be a closet of blue robes. The player is probably just as underwhelmed as the Ninja is.
  • The Shopkeeper thinks the conical straw hat the Ninja wears as part of his future outfit to be so cool that the next time you visit her, she's wearing the hat now too. And briefly gets into an argument with the Ninja over it.
  • One sidequest has the Ninja Elder request the Ninja find some Astral Tea Leaves, promising to teach the Power of True Sight as a reward. The Ninja gains the Astral Seed, and through time travel and long distances, carries out the task. The Ninja Elder almost forgets to give the Power of True Sight until reminded by the Ninja... and hands the Ninja an ordinary wax candle. Even the subsequent dialogue box seems irritated by the reward.
You got the Power of True Sight! Or in other words, an ordinary wax candle...
  • Barma'thazël acting like a cartoon supervillain at the start of Picnic Panic and hiding in some bushes to keep tabs on the Ninja is pure gold. His overly convoluted plot with multiple backup plans is also amusing.
  • The final battle of Picnic Panic involves Barma'thazël and the Dark Messenger doing the thing to fuse together. The Alchemist briefly shows up to gloat, but then realises the situation is actually serious, and dips out to grab the Shopkeeper, who is incredulous about the idea of them actually pulling it off until she sees it. Then she notices that the fusion has the conical straw hat, declares that she refuses to do the thing without resolving the disparity in fashion, and dips out to fetch and wear her own conical hat before doing the thing. Lo and behold, the Arcane Golem that rises to fight Barma'thazël's fusion is also wearing the conical hat.
