  • The cackling, wheelchair-bound woman and the moment when one of the others pushes her down the stairs.
  • The DVD commentary notes that one of the scariest aspects of this is how unaware Superman is of the trouble Perry and Jimmy are getting themselves into until near the end of the episode. The only person who can save them has little indication that they're in danger until it's almost too late. Given that Superman immediately takes Jimmy's pulse upon finding them and mutters a prayer of relief, even he wasn't sure whether Colonel Brand was lying when he claimed that they were already dead.
• The "talking" wax statues of deceased people who Madame Selena predicted would die in "Mystery In Wax." As a cord is pulled, a curtain rises to reveal an extremely lifelike wax statue of the deceased, while a record plays an eerie, monotone imitation of the deceased person's voice explaining how he died. Even tough-as-nails Lois Lane is creeped out.
